Structure of Earth:
• Crust:
o The outermost layer of earth is called crust.
o It is made of light rocks.
o It is not in one piece but in fragments. These fragments of earth crust
are called tectonic plates.
o The tectonic plates are in continuous motion. When a plate goes under
another due to collision they cause a disturbance in the crust which is
known as earthquake.
• Mantle: Mantle is made of solid and heavy rocks.
• Outer core: It is made of molten iron and rocks.
• Inner core: It is made of solid iron.
