Sub-topic-3:- Conversion of improper to mixed fraction and vice- versa

Introduction: we can convert improper fractions to mixed fractions and mixed fractions to
               improper fractions.

To convert an improper fraction into a mixed fraction

                                9
Let us convert into mixed fraction:
                                4

               Steps to be followed:

step 1 : divide 9 by 4. We get quotient as 2, remainder as 1

Step 2: the quotient will become the whole number.

Step 3: the remainder will become the numerator.

Step 4: the denominator will remain the same.

                                      1
So, the answer is 2 .
                                      4
To convert a mixed fraction into an improper fraction

                                   1
Lets us convert 2 into an improper fraction.
                                   4
               Steps to be followed:

Step 1: multiply the whole number by the denominator of the fractional part.

Step 2: add the product to the numerator of the fractional part.

Step 3: the denominator will remain the same.

                 1
                                 9
               2    =   2    4 + 1  =
                 4 4 4
**Note: we can see that both improper fraction and mixed fraction share a relation.
