                       INTRODUCTION
                         Our earth is made of rocks and minerals.
                         Rocks are constantly being formed, worn down and formed again.
                         Rocks broken down into smaller pieces forms sand.

                         Sand with the decomposition of plants and animals forms the soil.

                       ROCKS

                       Rocks are naturally formed solids made up of one or more minerals.
                       Some rocks contain only one mineral while others have many minerals.
                       The branch of science that deals with the origin, composition, texture and structure of
                         rocks is known as Petrology.















                       MINERALS
                       Minerals are substances that are formed naturally in the earth and are the building
                         blocks of rocks. E.g. gold, salt.
