SUBTOPIC: Multiplication by column method and word problems
***Multiplication of 3-digit numbers by 2-digit.
Step1: Arrange the numbers both multiplicand and multiplier column wise.
Step2: First we have to multiply the multiplicand by ones digit of the multiplier, and write
the product at the line below.
Step3: Multiply the multiplicand by the digit at the tens of the multiplier, but place a zero
in the ones place column, since this part of the multiplication is a number of tens.
Step 4: Now add both the product.
Step5: The final result of the multiplication we will get.
Example 1: 3 2 4 x 46
Step1:Arrange the number columnwise
Step2: Multiply 3 2 4 by 6 and write the result on the line below.
Step3:Multiply 3 2 4 by 4, that is the number given in the tens place , but place a zero in
the ones place column, since this part of the multiplication is a number of tens.
