        Sub-topic: - SUBTRACTION FACTS


             Introduction–Subtraction is the method by which we know the remaining after taken some
               quantity from a certain quantity.

             Terms related to subtraction

             Minuend – The number from which other number is subtracted is known as minuend.


             Subtrahend –The number which is subtracted from the other number is known as subtrahend.

             Difference –The result of subtraction is called the difference between the given numbers.

             Example – 12-3=9


             12 = minuend

             3 = subtrahend

             9 = difference


             If the order of the numbers is changed then the answer also changes.

             Example -5-3=2  , 3-5 is not equal

             Any number – zero = number itself


             Example – 5187-0=5187

             Any number- 1 = Predecessor of the given number.

             Example – 2612-1=2611


             Important Notes:-

             Minuend – Subtrahend = Difference

               Ex: 45-30=15


                   Here, Minuend=45,  Subtrahend=30
