Learning Objective: Students will be able to know about the sources of
water.

 Rain is the main source of water. Rain water gets collected and fills
up in water bodies found on the surface of the earth.

 Surface water sources includes Oceans, streams, rivers, lakes and
ponds.
 Rain water also goes deep under the ground and get deposited. Such
deposition is called as ground water. Ground water must be pumped

out of the ground after drilling a deep well. Wells and tube wells are
sources of underground water.
 Drinking water comes from both surface and ground water. Water
that comes from surface and ground sources is impure water.
