Synonyms
Synonyms are
the words that
have the same
meaning of a
given word.
Examples:
a) true - fact
b) love - affection
Learning objective: The students will be able to define the meaning of
synonyms and understand that a word can have many similar meaning
words.
• A Synonym is a word that has almost the same
meaning as another word.
• For example, a synonym for beautiful is stunning:
She is a beautiful girl. She is a stunning girl.
• Learning synonyms is a great way of improving our
vocabulary and can make our writing and speaking
more exciting or interesting.
Learning outcome: The students were able to define the meaning of
synonyms and understand that a word can have many similar meaning
words.
