1.  Sub Topic:-Conservation of Energy Resources


               Every sector of the national economy – agriculture, industry, transport, commercial and
               domestic – needs inputs of energy. There is an urgent need to develop a sustainable path for
               energy development. Here are some ways that each one of us can contribute to save energy
               resources:

               • Energy is a basic requirement for economic development.
               • Every sector of the national economy: agriculture, industry, transport, commercial and
               domestic needs energy. As a result, consumption of energy in all forms has been steadily rising
               all over the country.
               • There is an urgent need to develop a sustainable path of energy development.
               • India is presently one of the least energy efficient countries in the world.
               • We have to adopt a cautious approach for the judicious use of our limited energy resources.

               Different ways of conserving power resources are:

               (a) We can make use of energy efficient equipment.
               (b) Looking for alternative sources of energy.
               (c) Use of public transportation system instead of private vehicles.
               (d) Switching off electricity when not required.
               (e) Making people aware about the importance and conservation of power resources. Etc.
