Negation (Negative)
To form a negative sentencein French, one must use two words:Ne and Pas. Ne is placed
before the verb and Pas after the verb.
Ex.
Je parle anglais. I speak English
Je ne parle pas anglais. I do not speak English
J’aime une pomme I like an apple
je n’aime pas de pomme I do not like any apple
Il est médecin. Il n’est pas médecin
Ne before the verb and
Ne becomes n’ before the vowels.
