                                 LN – Estimating and measuring perimeter



               Learning Objectives: By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:

                     Understand the concept of perimeter as the distance around a shape.

                     Estimate the perimeter of objects and shapes
                       using non-standard and standard units.
                     Accurately measure and calculate the perimeter
                       of simple 2D shapes like squares and rectangles.
                     Use appropriate tools such as rulers, meter sticks,
                       or measuring tapes.


               Perimeter - The perimeter of a shape is calculated by
               adding up the length of all the sides or by measuring the

               outer boundary of a shape or an object.

               Perimeter = 12cm + 12cm + 12cm + 12cm =48cm


               Perimeter of a Rectangle

















                                                                       Perimeter = 10m + 5m + 10m + 5m
               Perimeter = length + length + width + width
                                                                                       = 30m

               Learning outcome: Students are able to:
