                                                 LN- DIARY DOODLES

               Lesson Objective:

By the end of the lesson, students will be able to identify and explain the differences in
language style between a personal diary entry and a newspaper report.

               Introduction (5 minutes):

                   • Begin by asking: “Do you know what a diary is? Have you ever seen a newspaper?”

                   • Show them a short diary entry and a simple newspaper article (age-appropriate).

                   • Highlight the tone and style used in each.

               Main Teaching:

               1. Diary Entry Features:

                   • Written in the first person ("I", "my").

                   • Expresses personal feelings, thoughts, and experiences.

                   • Informal and friendly language.

                   • Includes dates and may use emotional words.

               2. Newspaper Report Features:

                   • Written in the third person.

                   • Formal and factual.

                   • Answers: Who? What? When? Where? Why? How?

                   • Does not show personal emotions or opinions.

               Small Activity:

               Activity: "Sort the Sentences" Game

                   • Give students a mix of short sentences (e.g., “I was so happy today!”, “The school
                       held a sports day yesterday.”).

                   • In pairs, they sort each sentence into two columns: Diary or Newspaper.

                   • Discuss answers as a class.

               Conclusion:
