Activity: Identifying Attention Grabbers
Instructions:
1. Read the following examples of attention grabbers aloud.
2. Ask the students to identify what type of attention grabber it is (question,
fact, story, quote, or bold statement).
Examples:
"Have you ever wanted to be a superhero?"
"Did you know that the largest fish in the world is the whale shark?"
"Last summer, I went on an amazing adventure in the mountains."
"As Martin Luther King Jr. said, 'The time is always right to do what is
right.'"
"Imagine a world where everyone is kind to one another."
