               Learning Objective:

               Location: The place of a setting can be a real location or a fantasy made up
               location.

               Time period: The time of a setting can be the past, present, or future.
               Environment: The environment of a story creates interest and pleasure for the
               reader of a story.

               Importance:
                   ✓  Setting helps readers understand when and where the story takes place.
                   ✓  The setting can influence characters' traits, behaviours and motivations.

                   ✓  Setting can create a specific mood or atmosphere, drawing readers into
                       the story.
                   ✓  A well-crafted setting can heighten tension or create suspense.
