Meaning of Ledgers:
It is a book in which transactions are classified and posted.
it is a book which contains record of all the transactions in a
summarized and classified form.
It is also known as Principle book.
It is recorded on the basis of Journal entries.
Features of Ledger:
Transactions are recorded from journal
It records both debit &credit aspects of the transaction
Entry recordedfrom journal to leger is called Posting.
Advantages of Ledger:
It provides complete information of a particular account.
It helps to know about Expenses and Income
It is the basis of preparation of trial balance.
Helps in preparation of final accounts.
