               SUB-TOPIC-Festival Fiesta





               LEARNING OBJECTIVE- To have a knowledge about different festivals we

               celebrate in our country.




               DISCUSSION-

                   •  We observe different festivals in India.
                   •  We celebrate  Holi, Dussehra, Diwali, Eid-ul-Fitr and Christmas etc.
                   •  We  also celebrate  Ganesh Puja, Saraswati Puja, Raksha Bandhan and
                       Ratha Yatra. Lohri etc.
                   •  Ganesh Puja is celebrated marking the birth of the elephant headed
                       deity Ganesha, the God of prosperity and wisdom.
                   •  Raksha Bandhan is celebrated as a bond of protection. On this day
                       sisters tie rakhi on the wrists of their brothers .
                   •  Ratha Yatra or Car festival is observed by taking a images of deities

                       Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Maa Subhadra in a procession
                       through the streets in a chariot.
