SUB-TOPIC- Doctor
LEARNING OBJECTIVE- To know the importance of doctors in our day- to-day
life.
DISCUSSION-
Sometimes when you get sick, all you need is to sleep and drink plenty of
fluids. But when it is very essential you need to see a doctor.
The role of a doctor is to examine patients, and then prescribe medicines,
if a patient is severely unwell they are advised to stay in hospital for
intensive care.
Doctors are appointed in schools, offices, hospitals and labs.
Types of doctors are-
Pediatricians- Take care of diseases that children get from common cold
and fever to severe conditions. They also make sure that children develop
normally and try to prevent illness.
Dentists -Work with our mouth, examining teeth and gum health and
detecting various different issues, such as cavities and bleeding gums.
Patients are advised to go to the dentist twice a year in order to maintain
tooth health.
Dermatologists- Treat diseases of the skin.
Orthopedic Surgeons- Treat broken bones. These doctors are often found
in emergency rooms since accidents that result in broken bones often need
immediate treatment.
ENT Specialists concentrate in areas related to the Ear, Nose, and
Throat.
