TOPIC- Unit-15: Splish Splash
SUB-TOPIC-Where do I come from
LEARNING OBJECTIVE- To have knowledge about why it rains and where it
comes from.
DISCUSSION-
● Rain is a liquid form of water that falls from the sky in drops.
● Rain fills lakes, ponds, rivers and streams.
● It provides fresh water to humans, animals and plants.
● The water bodies are the homes to millions of sea creatures.
● What causes rain?
● When the sunlight falls on rivers, oceans, lakes, ponds, streams and sea
the water gets warmer and starts evaporating in the form of vapours.
This process is called evaporation.
● The water vapour goes to the atmosphere and then cools down in the
form of a tiny water droplet which is called condensation.
● When the clouds become too heavy with water droplets, it starts falling
down in the form of rain. This process is called precipitation. It can also
be seen in the form of hail, snow etc.
