                SUB-TOPIC- Parts of a fish





                 LEARNING OBJECTIVE-To know and say about different parts of a fish and

                 its characteristics.



                 DISCUSSION-
                     Fish live in water.

                     They come in different sizes, shapes and colours.
                     Examples- clown fish, salmon fish, tuna fish, dog fish, shark etc.
                     Fish have head, mouth, fins, eyes, tail, gills and scales.

                     All fish are vertebrates (have a backbone).
                     Gills help to breathe.

                     Fins help to swim.
                     Eyes help to see.
                     Tail helps to change the direction.

                     Scales are slime which helps their movement through water.
                     The brain of a fish is small compared to its body and as compared to the

                       brain of other animals.
                     Fish are cold blooded which means their internal body temperature
                       changes as the surrounding temperature changes.

                     Fish sometimes eat other small fish when they are
                       hungry.

                     The largest fish is the Great Whale Shark.
                     The smallest fish is Philippine Goby.
