SUB-TOPIC-Water animals
LEARNING OBJECTIVE- To know about different water animals and its
characteristics.
DISCUSSION-
Animals that live in the water are known as water animals.
They are also known as ocean animals or aquatic animals.
They live and swim in water.
Examples- whale, shark, turtle, fish, starfish, jellyfish, dolphin etc.
Some water animals lay eggs like fish, seahorse, octopus and turtles.
Some water animals that give birth to their babies are called mammals
like dolphins and whales.
Most of the water animals are cold blooded. This means the change of
temperature in the water does not make any differences in them. They
can cool off and warm up as per their surroundings.
Interesting facts about water animals:
Blue whale is the largest sea animal.
Shark is a fast swimmer.
Dolphins communicate with sounds and whistles.
Seahorses can change their colour.
Octopus can change their body shape to mimic other
animals. They have 8 legs (tentacles).
