TOPIC- Patterns





               SUB TOPIC-  Shape Patterns






               LEARNING OBJECTIVE- To be able to   identify what a pattern is and predict
               what should come next in patterns.





               DISCUSSION-


                     Introduce pattern with an action song.
                     Pattern is a design that is repeated in a definite sequence.
                     Numbers, shapes, letter or figures can be repeated to make patterns. For
                       ex-square, triangle, square, triangle, red, blue, red blue.
                     Identify and complete symmetrical pattern.
                     Patterns are found everywhere in world like  you can see patterns in the
                       floor tiles ,flowers, objects , dress etc
                     Activity – Take objects and arrange to make patterns.
                     Notebook - Paste shapes in the note book to complete the pattern.





               REVISION QUESTIONS (Oral)- Children will be asked questions to identify
               patterns.

                          1.  If first picture is a square then a triangle and then a square, what will
                              be the next shape?

                          2.  If first picture is a star, then a circle and then again a star what will
                              be the next shape?
