                                              Subject – CHEMISTRY

Chapter – CHEMICAL EFFECTS OF ELECTRIC CURRENT

TOPIC – Good and Bad Conductors, Do Liquids Conduct Electricity?

                                                  LESSON NOTES

        GOOD CONDUCTORS:

 Good conductors are the materials which allow electricity to pass through them.
 Good conductors offer less resistance to the flow of electric current.

 The electrons of the good conductors move freely.

 Good conductors can be used to make electric circuits.
 E.g. copper, silver, aluminium, tap water, lemon juice, etc.

        BAD CONDUCTORS:

 Bad conductors are the materials which do not allow electricity to pass through them.

 Bad conductors offer more resistance to the flow of electric current.
 The electrons in bad conductors do not move freely.

 Bad conductors cannot be used to make electric circuits.
 E.g. rubber, plastic, wood, distilled water, alcohol, etc.
