SUB TOPIC- Temperate evergreen forests, Temperate deciduous forests,
            Mediterranean forests ,coniferous forests

            NOTES-

Temperate evergreen forests- Temperate evergreen forests are found predomi Citrus
fruits such as oranges, figs, olives and grapes are commonly cultivated here because
people have removed the natural vegetation in order to cultivate nantly in areas with
warm summers and cool winters, and vary enormously in their kinds of plant life. In
some, needle leaf trees dominate, while others are home primarily to
broadleaf evergreen trees or a mix of both tree types.

Temperate deciduous forests- Temperate deciduous forests can be found in the
eastern part of the United States and Canada, most of Europe and parts
of China and Japan. Temperate deciduous forests are home to trees such
as oak, birch, beech, aspen, elm and maple.Birds like pheasants, monals are found here.

Mediterranean forests- Mediterranean forests are generally composed
of broadleaf trees, such as the oak and mixed sclerophyll forests of California and the
Mediterranean region, the Eucalyptus forests of Southwest Australia, and the Nothofagus
forests of central Chile. Citrus fruits such as oranges, figs, olives and grapes are
commonly cultivated here because people have removed the natural vegetation in order
to cultivate what they want to.

Coniferous Forests: In the higher latitudes (50° - 70°) of Northern hemisphere, the
spectacular Coniferous forests are found. These are also called as Taiga. They are tall,
softwood evergreen trees. The woods of these trees are very useful for making pulp,
which is used for manufacturing paper and newsprint. Match boxes and packing boxes
are also made from softwood. Chir, pine, cedar are the important variety of trees in these
forests. Silver fox, mink, polar bear are the common animals found here.
