SUBTOPIC: Comparing Decimals

Comparing Decimals: While comparing two decimal numbers, we consider the
following rules:

o We compare the place values of digits from left to the right.
Extra zeroes to the right of the last digit of a decimal value do not change the

value of the number.
o Extra zeroes between decimal point and a decimal digit do not change its value.

Decimals in Real life: There are a lot of areas where decimals are used. Some

of them are as follows:

Weight:

1kg = 1000 grams

1 gram = kgs = 0.001 kgs
