                 NOTES-

A VERY BIG KINDOM= AN EMPIRE

When the members of same family become rulers, it is called as a dynasty.
When the dynasty rules a very large part it becomes an empire.
An appropriate example of a dynasty is the MAURYAN DYNASTY.
It was ruled by three major rulers-
                        ➢ CHANDRAGUPTA MAURYA- the founder
                        ➢ BINDUSARA
                        ➢ ASHOKA
Chanakya was the advisor of the Mauryan dynasty.
He wrote a book called Arthashastra.
                        Important cities were
                        ➢ Pataliputra- the capital
➢ Taxila- gateway to north- west
➢ Ujjain- gateway from north to south India.
