In order to convert time in 12- hour clock to 24-hour clock format, we can follow the
following table.

Subtract 12 hours
12 midnight – 12:59 or subtract 12 from a) 12 midnight = 00:00 hours
a.m. the initial two b) 12:35 a.m. = 00:35 hours

a) 2:20 a.m. = 02:20 hours
1:00 a.m. – 12:59 p.m. No change
b) 12:30 p.m. = 12:30 hours
Add 12 hours or a) 5:45 p.m. = 17:45 hours
1 p.m. – 11:59 p.m. add 12 to the initial
two digits b) 10:50 p.m. = 22:50 hours
