In order to convert time in 24- hour clock to 12-hour clock format, we can
follow the following table.
FOR METHOD EXAMPLES
a) 00:10 hours = 12:10 a.m.
00:00 – 00:59 hours Add 12 hours; a.m.
b) 00:40 hours = 12:40 a.m.
a) 01:15 hours = 01:15 a.m.
01:00 – 11:59 hours No change; a.m.
b) 11:25 hours = 11:25 a.m.
a) 12:10 hours = 12:10 p.m.
12:00 – 12:59 hours No change; p.m.
b) 12:55 hours = 12:55 p.m.
a) 14:55 hours = 2:55 p.m.
Subtract 12 hours;
13:00 – 23:59 hours
p.m.
b) 23:30 hours = 11:30 p.m.
