RAIN FOG DEW FROST HAIL SNOW
NOTES:
TYPES OF PRECIPITATION:
FOG: Fog occurs when warm air cools rapidly and forms tiny water droplets
that linger in the air.
DEW: Sometimes water vapour condenses into tiny droplets on ground,
grass, plants and window panes. This is known as dew.
FROST: In extremely cold places, the dew drops freeze to form ice. Jt is called
frost.
HAIL: In cold places, raindrops freeze into balls of ice while passing through
the cold air, in the atmosphere. These frozen raindrops fall as icy hail stones.
