NOTES:

               WATER CYCLE:

                   • The repeated change of water to water vapour and then back to water,
which is occurring continuously in nature, is called water cycle.
                   • The processes involved in this cycle are evaporation, condensation and

                       precipitation.

               EVAPORATION:

The process by which water changes into water vapour on heating is known as

               evaporation.

               Factors for evaporation:

                   • The rate of evaporation is faster in areas with high temperature.
                   • Evaporation is faster in areas that are less humid.

                   • Strong wind increases evaporation.
                   • If the exposed surface area is more, then the rate of evaporation also

                       increases.

CONDENSATION: It is the process by which water vapour changes to water on
               cooling.

If the atmospheric temperature is low or below freezing point, then water

               vapour freezes to form snowflakes.

PRECIPITATION: When clouds pass through cooler air, they become heavy.
Eventually, they become so heavy that they fall on land as rain
drops.aibecomeheavy, and they fall on land.
