• Birds generally build nests and lay eggs inside their nest.
• Birds sit on the eggs to keep them warm.
• This helps the baby to grow and develop inside an egg.
• As the embryo develops into a chick inside the egg, the
yolk acts as a source of food for it.
• The albumen protects the embryo from jerks and shocks.
