EARLY HUMAN BEINGS

               INVENTION OF WHEELS AND RAFTS

Discovery of farming has led early humans to
control the source of food by growing plants
                      and raising animals.

The uses of oxen and horsesallowed people to
grow crops over a much larger area then they
were originally able to do it by hand.THe
domestication of dogs protected them from
                      wild animals.

Early humans discovered the idea of making a
raft and the invention of wheel helped them in
many ways like carrying heavy loads from one
                      place to the other.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:-Students will be able to understand the discovery wheel and
               rafts by early human beings.

                   • Early humans during ancient time (15,000 to 750,000 years ago) discovered that
heavy, round objects could more easily be moved by rolling them than bulky,
                       irregular ones.
                   • Early mankind discovered that logs could be used as rollers to move large objects
around. This was then refined into using rounded discs cut from tree trunks as
primitive wheels, followed by spoked wheels.

LEARNING OUTCOME:-Students learnt about how early humans invented wheels and
               rafts.
