Forests and wildlife
Forests are biodiversity hotspots.
Biodiversity is the variability among living organisms from all sources,
including terrestrial, marine, and other aquatic ecosystems and the ecological
complexes of which they are part; this includes diversity within species,
between species, and of ecosystems.
However, the range of different life forms (bacteria, fungi, ferns, flowering
plants, nematodes, insects, birds, reptiles and so on) found, is also important.
One of the main aims of conservation is to try and preserve the biodiversity
we have inherited.
Experiments and field studies suggest that loss of diversity may lead to loss of
ecological stability.
Stakeholders
They are the persons and the parties having a binding interest in an asset.
The stakeholders are:
1. Local People: who live around the forests and depend on forest products.
2. The forest department: a government body which looks after the forest.
3. The Industrialists: they take raw materials from the forests for their
industries.
